Holladay Dentist Poised to Earn Prestigious Dental Implant Fellowship

HOLLADAY, UTAH – Dr. Andrew Ericksen, a Holladay dental implant provider, recently took the comprehensive board exam to become an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

To complete his fellowship, Dr. Ericksen presented to a board of dental implant experts in Chicago. The presentation highlighted several of the implant cases Dr. Ericksen has completed over the past five years. The exam also included an oral exam.

“Since I started practicing dentistry, I’ve been committed to learning new techniques and continuing my education,” said Dr. Ericksen, who operates Holladay Dental Studio. “Dental implant treatment is one of the areas I’ve focused on over the past few years because dental implants can restore function and help patients live a healthier life.”

Dental implants are made from titanium and used to replace missing teeth or to secure dentures. Dental implants have become the leading treatment for missing teeth because they nearly mimic the power of natural teeth and inhibit the jawbone from receding — a problem that occurs once teeth are lost. Dr. Ericksen places and restores dental implants in his office. The treatment can be completed with a 98 percent success rate, and the best part is that patients with dental implants can eat the food they love again and throw away their uncomfortable removable dentures.

Dr. Ericksen will become one of the only dentists practicing in the Salt Lake Valley to have earned the prestigious dental implant fellowship. The staff of Holladay Dental Studio said Dr. Ericksen has used dental implants to transform the lives of many patients.

“Dr. Ericksen has been working toward this certification for almost five years, and we’re excited to begin telling our patients about it,” said office dental assistant Kami Barker. “They love hearing about how experienced their dentist is and how we stay on the cutting edge of dentistry.”

Holladay Dental Studio, 2160 E. 4500 S., Ste. 3, is a comprehensive dental practice located in a newly remodeled office. The practice handles general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, orthodontics and dental implant cases. Holladay Dental Studio also treats patients with Invisalign, a special orthodontic method that uses clear aligners to straighten teeth instead of uncomfortable brackets and wires. Invisalign aligners are removable and virtually invisible.

Dr. Ericksen is a Holladay native who attended Olympus High School and later graduated from the University of Utah with an undergraduate degree in international studies. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University in 2011 and took over at Holladay Dental Studio in 2012. Before acquiring Holladay Dental Studio, Dr. Ericksen worked at Premier Dental Care in West Valley City.

Dr. Ericksen also completed a dental implant residency at the Whitecap Institute, and he is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
