There is actually a lot that you can do at home to keep your family on the good road in between office visits.

Healthy habits can include eating a balanced diet, avoiding tobacco and alcohol use, and practicing good oral hygiene.

Brushing From The Beginning

Did you know that, by the time your children get their first teeth, there is already harmful bacteria present in their mouths?

This is why it is so important to make brushing your teeth a habit from the beginning.

All members of your family should be brushing twice a day at a minimum, and really covering all the areas of your mouth that you can get to with a toothbrush.

We also suggest that you choose a toothbrush with soft bristles and a hard head and replace it every three months or so.

This is the least you can do to keep our gums healthy and to keep cavities from forming.

Dental floss and mouthwash are also necessary weapons in the ongoing fight against bacteria, disease, and decay.

Think about all the food, tartar, and plaque that can fester in the crevices between your teeth and the regions of your mouth that you can’t get to with a toothbrush.
